Gilmour Academy Lancers Secure 4th at Boys Varsity Grey Division Cross Country Meet

The Gilmour Academy Lancers showcased a strong performance in the Boys Varsity Grey Division at the Mentor Cardinal Classic held at Garfield Park in Mentor, Ohio on August 30, 2025. Competing against 18 other schools, the Lancers achieved an impressive 4th place finish. The event featured some of the top cross country teams in the region, making the Lancers' placement particularly noteworthy. Evan Lindley led the team with a remarkable individual effort, securing 2nd place. His performance was complemented by Evan Sammut and Kevin Shank, who finished 19th and 22nd, respectively. These strong individual results contributed significantly to the team's overall success at the meet. The Lancers' strategy of pack running was evident, as the athletes displayed excellent coordination and stamina, navigating the challenging course that wound through the sun-dappled park, over hills and around the picturesque duck pond. Looking ahead, the Lancers are set to compete at the Pat Ritchie Invitational at Walsh Jesuit on September 6, 2025. The team's strong showing at the recent meet, coupled with their continued dedication to training and improvement, sets them up for potential success in their upcoming events.
