Boys Varsity Golf Takes Third at NEO Invitational Behind 79 From Lorenzo Salvatore

AKRON, Ohio - Gilmour Academy placed third in a 24-team field with a score of 330 at the NEO Invitational on Aug. 11, led by a top-10 performance from Lorenzo Salvatore. The Lancers produced five reported rounds between 79 and 83 to secure their place near the top of the team standings.
Lorenzo Salvatore set the pace with a 79, the Lancers’ lowest round of the tournament. That score earned Lorenzo Salvatore 10th place among 122 golfers, putting Gilmour’s leader in the top 10 percent of a deep individual field.
The Lancers also received matching rounds of 81 from Enzo Marous and Brody Race. Marty Klang followed with an 82, while Iulius Braho posted an 83. Only four strokes separated the team’s lowest and highest reported individual scores, giving Gilmour consistency throughout its lineup.
The back-to-back 81s were two strokes behind Lorenzo Salvatore, and Marty Klang and Braho remained close behind. That compact group of scores helped the Lancers finish ahead of 21 teams in the standings and complete the invitational with a third-place team result.
