CHESTERLAND, Ohio - Gilmour Academy and NDCL matched one another throughout Tuesday’s JV Boys Golf match, finishing in a 184-184 tie Sept. 15. The Lancers placed four golfers between 42 and 48 to earn the draw in the nine-hole match.
Alex Pikovskiy led Gilmour with a 42, the lowest score recorded among the Lancers’ four counting rounds. Pikovskiy finished four strokes ahead of the team’s next scorer and provided the low round that anchored Gilmour’s team total.
Carter Slife followed with a 46, giving the Lancers a second score below the team’s 46-stroke average. The combination of Pikovskiy and Slife accounted for an 88, putting Gilmour in position to stay level with NDCL as the remaining cards were added.
Parker Williams and Paul Fox completed the scoring with matching rounds of 48. Their identical scores brought the Lancers to 184, exactly matching NDCL’s total. Only six strokes separated Gilmour’s lowest counting score from its highest, reflecting the consistency needed to secure the tie.
With neither side able to claim the team victory, the match came down to equal totals across the scoring lineup. Pikovskiy’s 42 set the pace, while Slife, Williams and Fox supplied the supporting rounds that allowed Gilmour to finish even with NDCL.
The JV Lancers are back in action versus St. Vincent-St. Mary on Thursday, Sept. 17 at Goodyear Golf Course.
