Gilmour Falls to Western Reserve Academy in Regular-Season Finale
CHESTERLAND, Ohio - Boys Varsity Golf closed the regular season with a 155-187 loss to Western Reserve Academy on Thursday, Sept. 24. The Lancers finished dual-match play with a 4-2 record after the 32-stroke setback in their home finale.
Paul Fox delivered Gilmour’s low round, leading the lineup with a 42. His score provided the foundation for the Lancers’ team total and placed him four strokes ahead of the team’s next finisher.
Jack Quinn followed with a 46, and Keegan Wintersteller added a 47. Their rounds gave Gilmour three scores in the 40s, with only five strokes separating Fox and Wintersteller at the top of the Lancers’ lineup.
Theophany Goudas and Parker Williams each carded a 52 to complete Gilmour’s listed finishers. With four scores counting toward the team result, the Lancers’ 187 total came from Fox’s 42, Quinn’s 46, Wintersteller’s 47 and one of the matching 52s posted by Goudas and Williams.
Western Reserve Academy finished at 155 to secure the match.
The result ended a regular season in which Gilmour won four of its six dual matches. Fox’s team-best 42 and the three rounds in the 40s highlighted the Lancers’ final competition before postseason play.
