Gilmour Lancers Overpower Orange Lions in Varsity Lacrosse Clash

In a dominant display of skill and teamwork, the Gilmour Academy Varsity Lacrosse team clinched a decisive victory against the Orange High School Lions on April 16, 2025. Playing under a clear night at their home turf, the Lancers outscored the Lions with a final tally of 14-4.

From the onset, Gilmour set a fast pace, concluding the first half with a commanding lead of 9-2. Key players such as Max Ritt and Aedan Aerni each netted four goals, Ben Slifko and Gabe O'Connor added two goals apiece, showcasing their offensive strength. The teamwork was further highlighted by Aerni and O'Connor who not only scored but also contributed with two assists each. Manning Ritt, between the posts, supported the team with four crucial saves, aiding in keeping the opponent’s score low.

Coach Jenkins expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance, stating, “I’m really proud of how our guys executed today. We moved the ball crisply on offense and stayed locked in on defense.” This win brings the Lancers’ season record to 2-1.

Looking forward, Gilmour Academy is set to face Hawken School at an away game in Gates Mills on April 22, 2025. The Lancers will be eager to continue their winning momentum as they advance in the regular season.
