GILMOUR SPLITS THE WEEK, DOMINATES KIRTLAND AFTER TOUGH LOSS

Gilmour Academy suffered a narrow 7-6 loss to Kenston in a weather-shortened game on Tuesday, falling just short in a tightly contested matchup. The early stoppage added frustration to an already close game, as the Lancers were pushing for a comeback that never had a chance to materialize. But by Friday, Gilmour had shaken off the loss and came out firing. The Lancers exploded for a 17-2 victory over Kirtland, showcasing their offensive depth with 11 different players finding the back of the net. Senior Matt Ritt led the charge with a hat trick and one assist, pacing a relentless attack that overwhelmed the Hornets from start to finish. “We challenged the guys to respond the right way after Tuesday,” said Gilmour head coach Jenkins. “They brought energy, focus, and played for each other. That’s the kind of lacrosse we know we’re capable of.” Gilmour’s rebound performance sent a clear message: this team doesn't dwell on losses—they respond to them. Next up: a big rivalry matchup on Tuesday against University School, just down the street. “It’s always a battle with US,” Jenkins added. “Our guys know what this game means. We’ll be ready.”
