Girls Varsity Golf Earns First Win With 188-208 Victory Over Bay
Gilmour Girls Varsity Golf earned their first win of the season on Wednesday, defeating Bay 188-208 behind a team-low 43 from Brooke Leedy. The Lancers placed four golfers at 51 or better and finished with a 20-stroke advantage in the match at Sweetbriar Golf Course.
Leedy set the pace for Gilmour with the lowest round recorded by the Lancers. The 43 gave the team a strong score at the top of its lineup and provided the foundation for the victory.
Callie Dennison followed closely with a 44, giving the Lancers two rounds in the mid-40s. The one-stroke separation between Gilmour's top two finishers reflected the balanced effort that helped the Lancers create distance from Bay in the team standings.
Meghan Flaherty added a 50, while Peyton Dennison finished with a 51.
The Lancers took advantage with consistent scoring throughout the lineup and converted that performance into their first victory of the season.
Girls Varsity Golf is back in action on Monday, August 24 versus Hawken at Legend Lake Golf Club.
