Girls Varsity Golf Tops Mayfield 200-222 Behind Dennison’s Season-Low 43
CHARDON, Ohio - Callie Dennison posted a season-low nine-hole score of 43 to lead Gilmour to a 200-222 victory over Mayfield on Wednesday. The Lancers combined a low round at the top of the lineup with steady scoring throughout the team to secure the 22-stroke win.
Dennison set the pace with the best score reported for Gilmour, finishing five strokes ahead of teammate Brooke Leedy.
Leedy followed with a 48, giving Gilmour two rounds below 50. The combination of Dennison and Leedy provided the foundation for the Lancers’ winning total, with their scores separated by five strokes.
Peyton Dennison, Mary Halscheidt and Lillian Dinehart each carded a 54. The three matching rounds gave the Lancers consistent depth behind their top two finishers as Gilmour completed the nine-hole match with an official team score of 200.
The result gave Gilmour a balanced team victory in Chardon, with all five listed Lancers recording scores of 54 or better. Dennison’s 43 provided the individual highlight and helped separate the Lancers from Mayfield in the final team standings.
With the win, the Lancers complete the 2026 regular season schedule and await their placement for the OHSAA Sectional Tournament beginning on Sept. 28.
