BAINBRIDGE, Ohio - Gilmour's JV Boys Golf team posted four counting scores of 46 or better Tuesday to defeat Kenston 170-180 at Tanglewood Golf Course. The 10-stroke victory improved the Lancers to 2-0 in dual-match play this season.
Carter Slife delivered the low round of the match for Gilmour, shooting a 37 to set the pace. The round gave the Lancers a six-stroke advantage over their next-lowest score and provided the foundation for the winning team total.
Braden Minotas followed with a 43, while Parker Williams added a 44. Madden Pellegrini completed the Lancers’ four counting rounds with a 46. Together, those scores added up to 170 and gave Gilmour the separation it needed against Kenston.
The Lancers also received a 47 from Joe Goff and a 51 from Keegan Wintersteller. Although those rounds did not count toward the final team score, Gilmour placed five golfers below 50 in a balanced performance.
Gilmour’s combination of a 37 at the top of the lineup and three additional counting scores in the mid-40s secured the team’s second victory of the season.
