Lake Catholic Uses Two-Goal First Half to Defeat Lancers at Home

Gilmour Academy fell behind by two goals in the first half and could not recover Wednesday, dropping a 3-0 boys varsity soccer match to Lake Catholic at home. The first-half scoring proved decisive as Lake Catholic established control of the result before halftime.
Lake Catholic scored twice during the opening 40 minutes, forcing the Lancers to chase the match after the break. Gilmour continued working for a way through the Lake Catholic defense, but the visitors protected their advantage and kept the Lancers off the scoreboard.
Lake Catholic added its third goal in the second half, completing the scoring and securing the shutout on Gilmour Academy's home field.
The Boys JV Soccer team secured their first win of the season 2-1 over Hawken before the start of the varsity contest.
The Lancers are back in action this Saturday, Aug. 29 at Lutheran West with JV at 11:00 a.m. and varsity to follow at 1:00 p.m.
