Lancers Fall 2-0 to Padua
GATES MILLS, Ohio - Padua’s two-goal output proved decisive Saturday night as Gilmour Academy fell 2-0 at home. The Lancers were unable to answer at the other end, allowing Padua to leave Gates Mills with the shutout victory. The loss moved Gilmour to 4-7 on the season.
Kevin Moore led the Lancers’ defensive effort with three saves in goal. Moore turned away multiple Padua attempts and helped prevent the visitors from adding to their advantage. His performance gave Gilmour steady play at the back, but Padua converted enough of its opportunities to establish the final margin.
Gilmour continued working for a breakthrough as the match progressed, but the Lancers could not produce the goal needed to change the momentum. Padua protected its lead and kept Gilmour off the scoreboard through the final whistle.

Gilmour will look to rebound on the road when the Lancers visit Akron North on Thursday, Oct. 1. That match provides the next opportunity to build on Moore’s work in goal and improve upon the team’s 4-7 record.
