CLEVELAND, Ohio - Nathan Lennon rushed for 417 yards and six touchdowns as Gilmour Academy defeated Cleveland Central Catholic 59-42 on Saturday, Oct. 3, in Cleveland. The Lancers built a decisive 31-7 halftime lead and added 28 points after the break to secure their fourth victory of the season.

Lennon carried 25 times, averaging 16.7 yards per attempt while accounting for most of the Lancers’ reported 516 yards of total offense. The six rushing touchdowns anchored an eight-touchdown performance for Gilmour, which paired its productive ground game with a perfect afternoon on extra points.

Tyler Poszgai supplied the other two touchdowns, rushing three times for 7 yards. Poszgai also completed the only pass attempted for a 38-yard gain to Brayden Phillip, adding a passing contribution alongside the rushing scores. Ryan Detzel provided another productive option on the ground, gaining 72 yards on six carries for an average of 12 yards per attempt.

The 24-point halftime cushion proved important in a game that became more competitive after the break. Cleveland Central Catholic scored 35 second-half points, outscoring the Lancers by seven over the final two quarters, but Gilmour’s additional 28 points preserved the victory. The teams combined for 101 points, with the Lancers finishing 17 points ahead.

Frankie Sustar completed the scoring with a 26-yard field goal and an 8-for-8 performance on extra points. Gilmour next hosts John Marshall in Week 8, with Senior Night kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9.
