MASON, Ohio - Gilmour Academy’s Abigail Lynch and Grier Peckham captured the 2026 OHSAA Division II doubles state championship Friday, Oct. 16, in Mason, Ohio. The Lancers defeated Hathaway Brown’s Anna Mills and Ava Kamensky 6-2, 7-6(5) in the final to complete their postseason run with a state title.
Lynch and Peckham reached the championship match by defeating Clyde’s Niobe Beiersdorfer and Narella Beiersdorder 6-4, 6-2 in the state semifinal. After taking the opening set by two games, the Gilmour pair won the second by four to advance without needing a deciding third set. That victory secured their place opposite Mills and Kamensky.
In the final, Lynch and Peckham opened with another 6-2 set, putting them one set away from the championship. Mills and Kamensky pushed the second set to a tiebreak, but the Lancers prevailed 7-5 in the breaker to finish the match in straight sets. Across the semifinal and final, Lynch and Peckham won all four sets they played.
The championship carried distinct milestones for both Gilmour players, pairing a first-time state champion with a repeat winner. Lynch, a senior, earned the first state title of her career. For Peckham, a junior, the victory marked a third consecutive doubles state championship.
Congratulations, Abigail and Grier, the 2026 OHSAA DII Doubles state champions!
