CLEVELAND, Ohio - Enzo Marous set a nine-hole school record with a 33 as Gilmour defeated Orange by three strokes, 154-157, Tuesday, Sept. 15. The victory featured the Lancers’ lowest team score of the season and improved their dual-match record to 4-1.

Marous led Gilmour’s scoring lineup with the best round of his career. His record-setting 33 gave the Lancers the low score they needed in a match decided by a narrow margin. The personal-best performance also created separation at the top of Gilmour’s lineup, with Marous finishing six strokes ahead of the team’s next counting score.

Marty Klang followed with a season-best 39, giving the Lancers two rounds below 40. Marous and Klang combined for 72 strokes, putting Gilmour in a strong position as the remaining scores were added to the team total.

Lorenzo Salvatore contributed a 40, while Brody Race completed the scoring with a 42. The four rounds added up precisely to Gilmour’s winning total of 154, with only nine strokes separating the Lancers’ second, third and fourth counting scores.

The Lancers’ fourth victory in five dual matches combined a record round from Marous, a season low from Klang and steady supporting scores from Salvatore and Race. Together, those performances produced both Gilmour’s best team total of the season and a tightly contested win over Orange.

The Lancers face Mentor on Thursday, Sept. 17 for their sixth dual match of the season at Blackbrook Golf Course.
