Padua Edges Girls JV Golf by Two Strokes in Regular-Season Finale

BEDFORD, Ohio - Gilmour closed its JV Girls Golf regular season with a narrow defeat Thursday, as Padua posted a 178 to edge the Lancers by two strokes. Gilmour’s four counting scores produced a team total of 180 in the closely contested match.

Meghan Flaherty led the Lancers with a team-low 43, providing the strongest individual round in Gilmour’s lineup. Izzy Schumacher followed one stroke behind with a 44, giving the Lancers two scores in the mid-40s and keeping them within reach of Padua throughout the match.

Jaqueline DiMenna added a 46, while Clare Kenny completed Gilmour’s team score with a 47. Those four rounds totaled 180, leaving little separation between the teams when the final cards were counted. Padua’s 178 was just enough to secure the win.

Mia Dinunzio also competed for the Lancers and finished with a 53. Gilmour’s five golfers were separated by 10 strokes from the lowest score to the highest, with Flaherty setting the pace and Schumacher finishing close behind.

Although the Lancers did not come away with the victory, their top four golfers all broke 50 and combined for a competitive total. Flaherty’s 43 and Schumacher’s 44 anchored the effort, while DiMenna and Kenny supplied the remaining counting scores in the two-stroke finish.
