Siebert Reaches 1,000 Career Assists as Lancers Fall to Anthony Wayne
WHITEHOUSE, Ohio - Gilmour Varsity Volleyball fell to Anthony Wayne 3-0 on Saturday, October 3, in Whitehouse, Ohio, despite contributions at the net and in the back row. Sophomore Mira Siebert reached a career milestone during the road match, eclipsing 1,000 assists.
Siebert finished with eight assists as she crossed the 1,000-assist mark in her sophomore season. The milestone was a notable individual achievement in a match that ended with Anthony Wayne winning all three sets. Her setting contributions accompanied an attack that included kills from Evelyn Myers, Jordan Patton and Aiden Pike.
Myers recorded seven kills and two blocks, contributing both offensively and defensively at the net. Patton added four kills, while Pike finished with three. Those three players combined for 14 kills, giving the Lancers production from multiple attackers during the three-set loss.
Kaya Wilson recorded a team-high 13 digs in the back row. Pike added eight digs alongside her offensive contributions. Together, Wilson and Pike accounted for 21 digs.
Gilmour's next match is another road contest, this time at Saint Joseph Academy, following the straight-set defeat at Anthony Wayne. The Lancers will look to bounce back in their next contest on Thursday, October 8, at Saint Joseph Academy at 6:30 p.m. Varsity Volleyball moved to 8-8 with five games remaining in the regular season.
