University School Scores Late to Edge Gilmour Academy 25-18

Hunting Valley, Ohio - University School broke an 18-18 tie with a touchdown with 1:20 remaining and held on for a 25-18 victory over Gilmour Academy on Saturday. The Lancers reached their final possession with a chance to tie the game, but a fumble ended the drive and dropped Gilmour to 3-3.

The rivals played to a 7-7 tie in the first half before both offenses found more room after halftime. Gilmour quarterback Tyler Pozsgai led the Lancers with 122 total yards of offense and scored two rushing touchdowns on six carries. The Lancers remained even with University School deep into the fourth quarter, with the score tied at 18 and 8:35 left.

Gilmour produced 280 yards of offense behind a steady rushing attack. Nathan Lennon carried 16 times for 67 yards, while Dominic Dunlevy added 44 yards on 15 attempts and completed a two-point conversion. Ryan Detzel contributed 47 total yards, rushing eight times and making one catch for 23 yards. Kicker Frankie Sustar connected on a crucial 34-yard field goal to tie the game at 10-10 with 4:16 remaining in the third quarter. That balance helped the Lancers stay within one possession throughout the closing stretch.

The Gilmour defense also made several important plays to keep the game tied. Bruno Cook recorded a team-high eight tackles and recovered a fumble, while Grant Baucher finished with six tackles. Teddy Gainar supplied pressure with a sack as the Lancers limited University School to 18 points through the first 46 minutes and 40 seconds.

University School finally moved ahead with its touchdown at the 1:20 mark, turning an 18-18 game into a seven-point margin. Gilmour had one last opportunity to answer, but the Lancers' second fumble of the game stopped the potential tying drive and allowed University School to secure the rivalry win.
