University School Tops JV Lancers 164-175 Despite Carter Slife's 41

Rachel Horvath | Gilmour Academy | Sep 3, 2026

Highland Heights, Ohio - Carter Slife led Gilmour Academy with a 41, but University School posted a 164 to defeat the Lancers’ JV Boys Golf team, which finished at 175 on Wednesday. University School’s lower team total produced a 11-stroke victory in the Sept. 2 match.

Carter Slife delivered the Lancers’ low round and finished three strokes ahead of the team’s next scorer. Keegan Wintersteller followed with a 44, giving Gilmour two rounds below 45 and putting the top of its lineup in position to build the team total.

The remaining two counting scores came from Braden Minotas and Paul Fox, who each carded a 45. Their matching rounds completed Gilmour’s four-player total of 175. The Lancers’ counting scores were separated by only four strokes, from Carter Slife’s 41 through the pair of 45s.

Alex Pikovskiy added a 50 as the Lancers’ fifth finisher. Although that round did not figure into the four-score team total, it gave Gilmour five completed rounds of 50 or better against University School.

Gilmour received steady scoring throughout its lineup, but University School’s 164 proved too low to overcome. The Lancers finished with four counting cards of 41, 44, 45 and 45.
