Varsity Lancers Earn First Dual-Match Win With 159-172 Victory

Gilmour Boys Varsity Golf earned its first dual-match victory of the season Friday, Aug. 28, as the Lancers defeated Shaker Heights 159-172. A season-best round from Enzo Marous led a balanced performance, with Gilmour’s four counting scores all coming in at 42 or better.
Enzo Marous set the pace with a 37, the lowest score by any player in the match. Brody Race followed with a 39, giving the Lancers two scores below 40. Lorenzo Salvatore added a 41, while Luke Woodhouse completed the team total with a 42. Those four rounds combined for Gilmour’s winning score of 159.
The Lancers also received matching rounds of 45 from Marty Klang and Iulius Braho. Although those scores did not factor into the four-player team total, they gave Gilmour six golfers at 45 or better.
The consistent scoring separated Gilmour from Shaker Heights, which finished at 172. With Enzo Marous claiming medalist honors and three teammates close behind, the Lancers converted their strongest collective showing of the season into their first dual-match win.
