Benson-KMS Area Gymnastics Gears Up for a Promising Season
As the new gymnastics season approaches, the Benson-KMS Area Gymnastics team is set to make a significant impact under the guidance of first year head coaches for BKMS Area Kris Noble and Karly Meixel. With a strong foundation laid in the previous season, the team eyes another successful year ahead. Last season, Benson-KMS Area Gymnastics achieved commendable success, finishing with a dual meet record of 7-2. The team also showcased their strong performance by placing second at the WCC Conference Meet and third at the Section 6A meet. Four gymnasts advanced to the Class A State Gymnastics Meet, setting a high standard for this season. The team will be led by the seasoned duo of Kris Noble, entering her 10th coaching year, and Karly Meixel, in her fifth. Their expertise will be crucial in navigating through the season, especially after the departure of key gymnasts Olivia Noble and Elise Duncan to graduation. However, the return of standout athletes such as Lexi Hoberg, Gwen Wilcox, and Sophie Hilleran raises the team's prospects. Coach Noble expressed high hopes for this season, stating, "We are excited about the potential of this team! They have experience and high goals. There will be a lot of line-up changes as the season goes on as we are deep on most events." Fans should mark their calendars for the home meets at the Benson Activities Center, notably on December 12 for Youth Night, January 16 for Parents' Night, and January 28 for Senior Night. These special events highlight the gymnastics season, providing local supporters a chance to engage with and cheer for the team. With a packed schedule starting December 3 at Maple Lake, Benson-KMS Area Gymnastics is prepared to take on the challenges of the upcoming season, driven by a blend of seasoned guidance and emerging talent.
