Benson/KMS Takes Third in Class A Girls Standings at State Meet

Benson/KMS delivered a standout performance on the state stage, piling up 32 points to finish third in the Class A girls team standings at the MSHSL State Track & Field Championships at 5800 Jamison Ave NE, St Michael, MN 55376, USA. Powered by hurdling strength, a runner-up relay finish and points in the jumps, the team put together an impressive two-day showing against a deep state field.
Ava Noble led the way with a pair of podium finishes in the hurdles. She took third in the Girls 100 Meter Hurdles (Class A) finals in 14.90, which also set a new school record. Then she added another third-place finish in the Girls 300 Meter Hurdles (Class A) finals in 44.14. Those two races gave Benson/KMS a major boost in the team race and showed off the consistency and poise Ava Noble brought to the championship meet.
The Benson/KMS girls 4x100 relay also turned in one of the program's biggest moments of the meet, finishing second in the Class A final in 49.06. The relay team of Julia Claussen, Ava Noble, Kaida Helgenset and Carly Tolifson surged to the podium with a fast, clean race, adding another strong chunk of points to the team total and capping an excellent sprint relay effort. The relay team finish also earned them another school record.
In the field events, Carly Tolifson gave Benson/KMS valuable scoring depth. She placed fourth in the Girls Long Jump (Class A) with a mark of 17-09.00, earning key team points, and also competed in the Girls High Jump (Class A), clearing 5-02.00 to finish 10th. Her versatility across multiple events helped strengthen the teams' all-around state meet performance.
Benson/KMS showed balance across hurdles, relays, and jumps throughout the championships. With podium finishes from Ava Noble, a runner-up relay result and additional field-event points from Carly Tolifson, the girls pieced together a complete effort that stood up among the best in Class A. The third-place team finish and 32-point total gave the program a memorable result to celebrate at the season's biggest meet.
