Benson/KMS Cross Country Competes in Season Opener at Morris
The B/KMS cross country team opened their season on August 27, 2024, at the scenic Morris - Pomme De Terre Golf Course. Despite not having a sufficient number of runners to qualify for a team score, individual members still stood out in their respective races, making a promising start to the year. Among the notable performances, Alex Zurn earned a commendable 11th place in the boys varsity race, showcasing his potential early in the season. In the junior divisions, Audrey Loen secured an impressive 5th place in the girls 7th grade race, while Mason McGeary came 11th in the boys 8th grade race, both contributing to the team’s overall strong showing. The meet also included several neighboring schools, turning it into a highly competitive event. According to the team's coach, "It was a much nicer day to race than the originally scheduled day! The kids did phenomenal for their first meet of the year. The 4 boys that ran varsity picked up right where they left off last season. It is going to be a very fun year!" The Fighting Saints are looking forward to their next event, which will take place on August 29, 2024, in Appleton, as they continue to build momentum for a promising season.
