KMS Fighting Saints 8th Grade Team Perfect End to the Season with a Shutout Win Over Ortonville Trojans

MURDOCK, MN - The KMS Fighting Saints' 8th-grade football team delivered an impressive performance in their final regular-season game, securing a 14-0 victory over the Ortonville Trojans on October 10, 2024. This win at their home ground sealed a successful season, concluding with a record of 5-2. The game started strong for the Fighting Saints as they led the first half with a narrow 6-0 margin. Key plays included a 10-yard touchdown pass from Rex Nelson to Hayden Duke, and the defense held the Trojans scoreless. In the second half, Tucker Wilts's 5-yard rushing touchdown extended KMS’s lead, and a subsequent 2-point conversion from Nelson to Eero Nelson capped the scoring. Defensively, the Saints were formidable. Kalan Van Heuveln's strategic play included a crucial sack, while Eero Nelson's relentless pressure led to two fumbles, which were adeptly recovered by Breken Navarro and Kendrick Wright.
