KMS Fighting Saints Face Tough Loss Against CMCS Bluejays in Basketball Action
In a challenging encounter on their home court at KMS High School, the KMS Fighting Saints boys varsity basketball team fell to the CMCS Bluejays with a final score of 47-72 on December 12, 2024.
The Regular season game witnessed the Saints battling hard against the formidable Bluejays, but struggling to close the gap established in the first half. By halftime, the scoreboard read KMS 21, CMCS 43. Despite a difficult start, KMS showcased a revigorated defense in the second half, as noted by Coach Fragodt. "Central is a very good team and they showed that tonight. They have a lot of guys that can score and that makes it hard to guard them. I thought we did a good job in the half court defense. We got in trouble when they were able to get into transition," stated Coach Fragodt. He also commended the team's effort after the break, "I thought we really stepped up in the second half. Our defense really worked hard."
Top scoring for the Fighting Saints were Teagen Diederich and Gavin Mulder, each contributing 13 points. Mulder also impressed on the defensive end with 7 rebounds. Despite these efforts, the team's overall record moved to 0-3 for the season.
Looking forward, the Fighting Saints aim to regroup and tackle their next challenge against the Litchfield Dragons. The matchup is scheduled for December 13 in Litchfield, hoping to mark a turning point in the season for KMS.
