In a heated regular season basketball encounter at KMS High School on December 9, 2024, the KMS Schools Fighting Saints C Squad faced a challenging game against the Central Minnesota Christian Schools (CMCS) Bluejays. Despite a strong first half, the Fighting Saints could not maintain their lead, ultimately falling to the Bluejays with a final score of 31-43. The Fighting Saints started strong, holding a commanding 23-13 lead at halftime. Avea Finstrom, a standout player for KMS, scored 14 points, leading her team's effort with significant contributions on both ends of the court. She showcased an impressive all-around performance, particularly in the first half, with a total of 5 rebounds and 4 steals throughout the game. Despite their initial lead and strong defensive efforts, highlighted by 3 steals from Brooke Johnson, KMS struggled to keep up with the pace in the second half. The Bluejays made a significant comeback, turning the game around in their favor with a relentless offense. Looking ahead, the KMS C Squad does not have any more games scheduled for this week. However, both the JV and Varsity teams are set for upcoming games against BBE on Thursday and Ortonville on Friday. The next opportunity for the C Squad to bounce back will be against LQPV on December 18, 2024. The Fighting Saints will look to improve their current team record of 1-3 in the upcoming away game.
