The KMS Fighting Saints 8th grade football team encountered a challenging game against the Maccray Wolverines on September 18, 2025, in Murdock. The cloudy weather conditions set the stage for what turned out to be a tough day for the Saints. The match began with high intensity, but the Wolverines quickly took control, leading to a 0-30 score against the Saints by halftime. Despite the significant lead by Maccray, one key moment highlighted the Saints' resilience: Gavin Broberg intercepted a pass and brought it back 40 yards to the 6-yard line. This play set up a crucial opportunity for the Saints. Capitalizing on this setup, Jonathan Molenaar rushed 6 yards to score the Saints' only touchdown, altering the scoreboard to 6-42 by the final whistle. Although the end score reflected a hard defeat, the play by Molenaar and Broberg showcased the team's potential and fighting spirit. Looking ahead, the KMS Fighting Saints are set to face Montevideo on their home turf in Murdock on September 22, 2025. As they prepare for this next regular season game, the team holds a current record of 0-3.
