KMS Fighting Saints JV Secures a Clean Sweep Against Ortonville Trojans

In a commanding display of skill and teamwork, the KMS Fighting Saints JV team achieved a remarkable victory over the Ortonville Trojans on October 8, 2024. Taking place in Ortonville, the regular contest concluded with a straight-sets victory for KMS, 3-0. The Fighting Saints began the contest on a challenging note but managed to gather momentum as the sets progressed. The first set saw KMS overcome Ortonville with a score of 25-17, followed by a tighter 25-20 win in the second. The third set was a nail-biter, ending at 15-13 in favor of KMS. Coach Carlson reflected on the performance, saying, "The girls pulled off a win tonight. We struggled to get going in the first set and it was hard for us to get out of it but we did and were able to finish each game." Key players were tremendously influential in securing this victory for the Saints. Kayleigh Finstrom, Acelyn Hacker, and Taylor VanHeuvlen led the charge with significant kills. Acelyn Hacker and Emma Gareis were formidable at the net with critical blocks. Defensive contributions came from Avery Magaard and Emily Holtkamp through crucial digs, while the same duo, along with Emma Gareis, excelled in serving aces. Brooke Johnson's precise assists played a vital role in facilitating scoring opportunities. The Fighting Saints now gear up to face the MACCRAY Wolverines on October 15, 2024, at KMS High School.
