KMS Fighting Saints' Remarkable Volleyball Victory Against Jaguars

In an intense volleyball showdown at BBE, the KMS Fighting Saints 8th grade team displayed resilience and teamwork to secure their first win of the season, defeating the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars with a final score of KMS 3, BBE 2. The thrilling match took place on September 5, 2024, where the Fighting Saints made a remarkable comeback after losing the first two sets. Raina Finstrom, Tegan Sobkowiak, and Quinn Rudningen led the charge with impressive kills that shifted momentum in favor of KMS. Rudningen and Sobkowiak also stood out in blocking, assisting the team in crucial defensive stands. The defensive efforts were further bolstered by Chloe Hacker, Addie Dahlke, and Bailey Barrett, who were pivotal with their timely digs throughout the event. Key serving efforts were noted as Kallie Leenstra, Sobkowiak, and Kenzie Danielson dealt critical aces that helped tilt the score in their favor. With Sydney Everson, Danielson, and Callie Leenstra orchestrating the plays and distributing vital assists, the team performance spoke volumes about their preparation and synergy. The game was marked by a significant moment when KMS rallied from a two-set deficit to dominate the last three sets, conclusively sealing the victory with the scores of 25-19, 25-20, and a nail-biting 15-13 in the final set. Coach Aafedt praised the team's effort, saying, "The girls worked so hard tonight! It was fun to watch them get the season going and work together." She highlighted the phenomenal spirit and support among the players, which was evident as the entire 8th grade team cheered each other passionately, on and off the court. With their season now rolling, the Saints, look forward to their next challenge against BOLD Warriors on September 12, 2024, at BOLD. Holding a current record of 1-0, the 8th grade KMS volleyball team is set to continue their momentum in coming matches.
