KMS Fighting Saints Secure Victory Over Montevideo Thunderhawks in Girls' Varsity Basketball Clash

In an electrifying encounter on January 2, 2025, the KMS Schools Fighting Saints girls' varsity basketball team extended their winning streak by defeating the Montevideo Thunderhawks with a final score of 57-48. The game took place in Montevideo, marking a significant victory for KMS, maintaining their undefeated season record.

The first half concluded with KMS leading 34-19, setting the stage for a competitive second half. Maddie Luft led the scoring for the Fighting Saints with a remarkable 17 points, followed closely by Leah Wagner with 12 points and Acelynn Hacker who contributed 11 points. Luft also showcased her all-around ability by grabbing 10 rebounds, highlighting her pivotal role in the team's success.

Coach Johnson of the KMS team commented on the performance, stating, "After 20 days off KMS had to knock off a bit of rust but battled to victory." This win brings the Fighting Saints' current season record to an impressive 8-0 overall, with a 4-0 standing in their conference.

Looking ahead, the Fighting Saints are set to host the Benson Braves on January 4, 2025, at their home court. As the season progresses, the KMS team continues to show their prowess on the basketball court, with hopes of extending their unbeaten run.
