KMS Fighting Saints Secure Victory Over Panthers in Exciting JV Volleyball Contest
In an intense and strategic display of junior varsity volleyball, the KMS Fighting Saints secured a thrilling 2-1 victory over the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers on September 26, 2024, at KMS High School. Displaying both versatility and skill, the Fighting Saints improved their season record to 7-6 following this regular season clash.
The Saints showed early dominance, clinching the first two sets with identical scores of 25-19. However, the Panthers managed to rally in the third set, taking it 15-10, but it was not enough to overcome the home team's initial advantage. Key players such as Lexi Sweere, Avery Magaard, and Kayleigh Finstrom led the offense with significant kills, while Kayleigh Finstrom also shone on defense with crucial blocks. Moreover, Avery Magaard and Brooke Johnson were instrumental, contributing both aces and assists during the critical moments of the game. Emily Holtkamp also made significant contributions with timely digs to thwart the Panthers' offense.
"The girls played very well tonight. They played aggressive and had some good plays at the net. I had to switch the lineup around, and all the girls did well with the changes and played as a team," said Coach Carlson, expressing his satisfaction with the team's performance and teamwork.
The Fighting Saints look ahead to their next challenge, where they will host the CMCS Bluejays on October 01, 2024, at KMS High School. The team will be aiming to carry forward their momentum and aim for a strong finish to the season.
