KMS Fighting Saints Start Season with a Dominant Win Over Wadena-Deer Creek

In a spectacular show of skill, the KMS Fighting Saints football team grabbed their first win of the regular season on Friday, August 30, with a decisive 38-7 victory against the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines. The game, held in Wadena, marked an outstanding start to the varsity squad's campaign, pushing their record to 1-0. From the onset, the Fighting Saints established a robust lead with a halftime score of 22-0, courtesy of explosive plays and staunch defense. Jett Olson, who earned Week 1 Player of the game and team MVP, was particularly impressive, contributing three touchdowns with remarkable 55 and 60-yard catches. The offense also saw notable performances from Logan Rudningen and Miles Morrison, who both secured touchdowns. Hunter Engelke starred in the quarterback position, hurling three touchdown passes and earning the 'player of the game' title for offense. The defensive effort was equally formidable. Aaron Jones stood out, earning him 'player of the game' on defense, as the team consistently demonstrated tenacity and agility. On special teams, Storm Solis made significant contributions that were pivotal in maintaining the Saints' dominance throughout the game.
