KMS Fighting Saints Triumph in a Commanding Victory Over YME Sting
In an impressive display of skill, the KMS Fighting Saints varsity girls' basketball team extended their unbeaten streak by defeating the YME Sting with a significant margin on January 21, 2025, at their home court. The final score stood at KMS 79, YME 38, showcasing the Saints' dominant form in this regular-season clash.
From the beginning, KMS set a vigorous pace, leading the halftime with a score of 41-21. Coach Johnson highlighted the transformation during the game, stating, "After a slow start our defense picked it up mid way through the first half." This adjustment proved crucial as the Saints amplified their defense, minimizing the Sting's opportunities to score while consistently extending their own lead.
The game's scorers were pivotal to KMS's success. Maddie Luft led the charge with a stunning 28 points, followed closely by Acelynn Hacker and Emily Wagner, each adding 16 points to the team’s total. Contributions also came from Mamie Luft with 8 points, Leah Wagner with 5, and Savannah Petersen, who also scored 5 points, rounding out a well-distributed scoring effort across the team.
