KMS Fighting Saints Varsity Falls to RCW Jaguars in Volleyball Clash

In a challenging volleyball encounter on September 10, 2024, the KMS Fighting Saints varsity team faced a tough defeat against the RCW Jaguars at RCW during a regular season match. The Jaguars secured a 3-0 win, winning individual sets 25-18, 25-22, and 25-16 respectively. Despite the loss, the Fighting Saints continued to fight, especially during the second set where the squad nearly bridged the gap with RCW. Notable performances for the night came from Maddie Luft and Faith Duke, who excelled at the net, delivering crucial kills and blocks that kept KMS competitive. Additionally, Abby Holtkamp, Emily Wagner, and Ava Noble contributed significant digs to the team's defense throughout the match. Coach Ruf commended the team's performance, stating that she was "[p]roud of how the girls came out ready to play against a tough hitting team." This remark underscores the team spirit and effort put forth against a strong opponent. The Fighting Saints top players in this match includes Maddie Luft and Savannah Petersen contributing key blocks and assists, while Ava Noble was instrumental with her assists. Looking forward, KMS Fighting Saints are set to take on the Minneota Vikings at home on September 12, 2024. With a current record of 1-8 overall and 0-2 in the conference, the Fighting Saints are eager to turn their season around and secure more victories.
