In an electrifying regular season volleyball showdown, the KMS Fighting Saints edged out the Ortonville Trojans 3-2 on their opponent's court this past Tuesday. The victory, marked by intense rallies and a fierce comeback, showcased the tenacity of the Fighting Saints varsity team. The match saw the teams exchanging blows through the night, with KMS winning the first set 25-22 before Ortonville leveled the competition 25-22 in the second set. The third set saw KMS take a commanding 25-16 win only for Ortonville to respond equally strong, taking the fourth set 25-17. The tension reached its peak in the final set, tightly contested and ending 17-15 in favor of KMS, sealing a well-earned victory for the Saints. Maddie Luft led the Saints with significant contributions, achieving 9 kills, 6 aces, and assisting in 5 blocks, while Faith Duke and Lily Winter were pivotal at the net, their skill and coordination deterring many Ortonville advances.
