Saints Perform in Harmony at 2024 KMS Pops/Sr. Awards Concert

The KMS Schools choir delivered a melodic and memorable performance at the Pops/Sr. Awards Concert held at the KMS PAC on May 20. Featuring a wide variety of musical genres, the evening included a breathtaking journey through the pop and classical music realms, showcasing the talent and dedication of the students. The program was a diverse mix of selections including: Sunday Best, Mr. Blue Sky, and Do Wah Diddy, displaying the range of the performers. Standout renditions came from the Senior High Choir in their powerful take on 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' the Jr. High Choir taking the audience on a journey with 'Come Sail Away', and the Pop Group infusing energy in their performance of 'Sunday Best.' The choir's playlist also incorporated classic tunes like 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll,' 'God Bless the U.S.A.,' 'Bless the Broken Road,' and even ventured into the more classical with solos and ensembles. A rendition of 'Edelweiss' from 'The Sound of Music' was a heartfelt surprise performed by some students, former students, and family. Overall, the choir was praised for its energy and expression, performing each number in a way that evoked its own distinct vibes. Director Sandy Baker resonated the theme of the night's performance in her quote: "Be who you are, and never sacrifice your style for anyone." A student also showed gratitude, saying, "Thank you, Mrs. B., for bringing your love of music to all of us, not just the best singers, but all of us." The event was not only a treat for the ears but also a heartfelt celebration of the students' musical prowess. Looking ahead, the Fighting Saints are preparing for their next performance, the Holiday Concert, scheduled for December 16, 2024.
