Lawrence Tech Blue Devils Secure Victory in WHAC Conference Match Against Michigan-Dearborn

In a tight WHAC Conference showdown, the Lawrence Tech University Women's Soccer Blue Devils celebrated a narrow 1-0 victory over the Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines on September 24, 2025. The match, held at Blue Devils Stadium in Southfield, Mich., witnessed the home team delivering a decisive performance that culminated in a hard-fought win.

The sole goal of the match came early, with Bridget Finneran striking at the 17:32 mark in the first half after a setup by Abigail Gray. This play stood as the highlight of the match and ultimately sealed the fate of the day's contest. This goal also marked Finneran as the scorer of the game-winning goal, while Gray's assist was crucial in breaking down the Wolverines' defense.

Lawrence Tech maintained their lead into halftime at 1-0, with both teams returning to play a defensively strong second half. Despite various attempts from Michigan-Dearborn to level the score, Lawrence Tech’s goalkeeper Gabi Nelson ensured a shutout with a critical save, preserving the lead and the victory for the Blue Devils.

The Blue Devils will take the field next on September 27, 2025, against Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio. The team currently stands with a record of 2-3-2 overall, with a conference record of 1-1-0, firmly setting their sights on climbing higher in the conference rankings.
