Lawrence Tech University Men's Volleyball Anticipates Dynamic Season Ahead
Following a historic season, the Lawrence Tech University Men's Volleyball team, affectionately known as the Blue Devils, is gearing up for an ambitious schedule in the upcoming season. Under the guidance of Head Coach Jacob Paige, the team aims to build on its record-breaking achievements from last year, which included their first NAIA Tournament appearance and a landmark victory in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament, where they emerged as champions despite being the lowest seed.
The Blue Devils will open their season with matches against Judson University and Clarke University in Mishawaka, IN on February 1. Key home games at the Don Ridler Fieldhouse include clashes against Cornerstone University on February 14, and the University of Rio Grande on February 15. Notably, the team will host Siena Heights University on March 18 and Lourdes University on March 25, among other critical games.
With key players Brendon Down and Mario Cid returning for more action, the team boasts a strong lineup. Brendon Down, with 388 kills last season, and Mario Cid, with 268 kills, are expected to leave a significant mark this season. Their skill and experience will be crucial as the Blue Devils strive not only to replicate their previous success but to exceed it.
Adding to the excitement, Lawrence Tech has been ranked #1 in the WHAC preseason polls, a testament to their rising prominence in the league. The enthusiasm from this recognition could very well propel them to new heights in the competitions ahead. The support of fans and the community will be pivotal as the Blue Devils set out to tackle this demanding schedule and aim to continue their ascent in college volleyball.
