Lawrence Tech Blue Devils Volleyball Narrowly Defeated by #24 Aquinas Saints

On September 17, 2025, the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils women's volleyball team faced off against the #24 Aquinas Saints at the Don Ridler Field House in Southfield, Michigan. The intense WHAC Conference clash ended in a narrow defeat for the Blue Devils, with a final score of 3-2 in favor of Aquinas.

The match started on a challenging note for the Blue Devils as they lost the first set 25-18. However, they bounced back impressively in the following sets, securing victories with scores of 25-22 and 25-19, respectively. Momentum seemed to be on the side of Lawrence Tech led by stellar performances, including from Maria Trevino Nunez who dominated with 18 kills. The team's resilience highlighted their competitive spirit.

In the fourth set, Aquinas regained control, taking the set 25-17, and then decisively won the fifth and final set 15-8. This win for Aquinas broke the Blue Devils' impressive 9-game winning streak.

The Blue Devils showed strong teamwork and strategic gameplay throughout the match. Key players such as Kyndal James, with 5 blocks, and Sydney Eggleton, who contributed 4 aces and 18 kills overall, were instrumental. Additionally, Dru Temple facilitated many plays with a remarkable 39 assists and contributed on defense with 20 digs.

Despite this setback, the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils look to regain their momentum in their upcoming game against Defiance College in Defiance, OH, on September 19, 2025. The Blue Devils currently hold a season record of 10-2 and a conference record of 3-1.
