Lawrence Tech Blue Devils Volleyball Triumphs at Homecoming
In an exciting home performance at Don Ridler Field House, the Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils women's volleyball team claimed a decisive 3-0 victory over Siena Heights in their WHAC Conference homecoming event on September 26, 2025. The win not only celebrated their homecoming but also reinforced their strong season standing.
The Blue Devils demonstrated a powerful start in the first set with a dominant score of 25-12. The momentum slightly shifted in the second set where both teams were neck-and-neck, but Lawrence Tech eventually edged out a tight 26-24 win. In the third set, they sealed their victory with a solid 25-19 finish, marking a clean sweep in the match.
Key players made significant impacts throughout the sets. Maria Trevino Nunez led the team with 17 kills, closely followed by Sydney Eggleton and Nya Matley, who contributed 10 and 9 kills respectively. On the defensive side, Nicole Hughes was formidable with 3 blocks, while Dru Temple and Kyndal James also added crucial blocks. Sydney Eggleton showcased her all-around capabilities with a high of 20 digs. Dru Temple not only supported the team with key blocks and 11 digs but also dominated in assists with 38, alongside her contributions in serving with 1 ace. Other contributions in serving came from Kaden Perkins and Payton Malin, each securing an ace.
Looking ahead, the Blue Devils will face Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on October 1, 2025. With a record of 11-3 overall and 4-2 in the conference, Lawrence Tech aims to continue their strong performance into the later stages of the season.
