Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils Clinch Victory in Basketball Showdown

The Lawrence Tech University Blue Devils secured a commanding win against Kentucky Christian University with a final score of 94-81 on October 24, 2025, at Don Ridler Fieldhouse. The non-conference game showcased strong performances from both teams, with the Blue Devils playing outstanding basketball on their home court.

Period 1 of the game began with Kentucky Christian taking an early lead, scoring the first points and maintaining a 4-0 advantage. However, Lawrence Tech quickly countered, tying the game at 9-9 after a strategic three-pointer by Michael Afrakoff. The Blue Devils, driven by high-caliber plays from Kerem Sariaslan, subsequently built a solid lead, which expanded to seven points, thanks in part to key contributions from Vuk Zarubica who assisted Afrakoff for a critical three-pointer. The half concluded narrowly in Lawrence Tech's favor, 37-36.

As the second half unfolded, Kentucky Christian briefly overtook Lawrence Tech, but the Blue Devils responded vigorously. Afrakoff, alongside Damian Thompson, nailed crucial three-pointers, regaining control for Lawrence Tech. The team's effective shooting was bolstered by stellar defensive efforts led by Davin Walker, who also topped the rebounding charts with 11 rebounds. By the closing minutes, Lawrence Tech had expanded their lead to 16 points. Key players such as Ramon Zapater and Bogdan Cret made significant contributions, highlighting the depth and versatility of the team. The match ended with Lawrence Tech earning a solid 13-point victory.

Looking ahead, the Blue Devils will next face opponents at the Bernie Holowicki Classic at Madonna University on November 7, 2025. With a current season record of 1-0, the team shows promise for the forthcoming games, aiming to build on their winning start.
