Unity Brings LASD and Community Together for Friday Night Football
Join us on Friday, September 11, 2026, as Garey High School takes on South El Monte High School in a varsity football game at South El Monte High School, located at 1001 N. Durfee Avenue, South El Monte, CA 91733. Kickoff is at 7:00 PM.
A special thank you to uReport and the Unity Seats Program for supporting this meaningful event and helping bring law enforcement, students, families, and community members together in remembrance and unity.
The Unity Seats group will include Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department personnel and invited community guests. Participants will attend the football game together to strengthen relationships, encourage positive conversations, and promote unity between law enforcement and the community.
This event brings law enforcement, the South El Monte High School Band, students, families, and community members together on the anniversary of September 11. The evening will honor those who lost their lives and recognize the service of first responders. Through the Unity Seats Program, participants will share an experience centered on remembrance, respect, and community connection.
Unity Seats participants will enjoy the football game together and take part in the evening’s special activities. LASD personnel and guests will be recognized on the field during the coin toss before kickoff. During halftime, South El Monte High School will hold a 9/11 Memorial presentation featuring the South El Monte High School Band and a moment of silence. The community is invited to join us in honoring the lives lost on September 11 and recognizing those who continue to serve.
