A Senior Night to Remember: Magnificat Celebrates 13 Soccer Seniors
ROCKY RIVER, Ohio - Some of a program’s greatest memories come not from a final score, but from celebrating the people who made the journey special. Magnificat High School’s soccer senior night honored 13 seniors with a dinner, personalized keepsakes and recognition of the bonds they have built through soccer, school and life.
The celebration brought together the effort of junior moms and dads, the team’s nonseniors and their parents. Together, they supplied a meal featuring food from Antonio’s, a well-loved local restaurant, and prepared decorations that helped make the occasion special. Their work gave the seniors a tribute supported by the teammates and families who have shared in their soccer experience.
Each senior received her own “fathead” and a special gift, giving the evening a personal touch. Those keepsakes marked more than a place on the roster. For this group of young women, senior night celebrated friendships that connect their time on the field with their lives beyond it, as they share their final season playing soccer together.
This year's seniors are Annabelle Watson Cate Yingling Charly Pechota Clara Mellino Jayne Fitzpatrick Kalli Sdrakas Kealey Campbell Lexi Hradek Lydia Hamad Margaret Kelley and Abbey Cupach
Coach Tommy praised the team’s importance to Magnificat through the years and reflected on how much the group has meant to him personally. His recognition extended to each senior, celebrating their individual qualities and expressing confidence in their ability to accomplish successful things in the years ahead. The evening honored both their contributions to soccer and the people they have become.
That combination of friendship, family support and individual recognition gives this senior night its place among the Blue Streaks’ cherished program memories. The celebration connected the seniors’ years together with the teammates who will carry the program forward, making appreciation a part of its identity. Magnificat plays Bay next on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Karnatz Family Field at Magnificat High.
