Magnificat Freshman Basketball Team Maintains Perfect Season with Win Over Padua Bruins

The Magnificat Freshman basketball team added another win to their unblemished record on Feb. 6, beating the Padua Bruins with a final score of 48-21. The home court advantage at Magnificat proved pivotal, as the Bruins struggled to contain the determined Blue Streaks. The Blue Streaks asserted their dominance early on, finishing the first half with a commanding lead, 26-5. Lauren Beck led the scoring for Magnificat with 10 points, closely followed by Lilly Casterline with 8 points. Solid contributions from Julia Khoury and Emme Heiss, who both scored 5 points, rounded out the ensemble effort. What truly set the win apart was the team's all-inclusive performance, witnessed through every player on the roster adding points to the total. The depth of the Blue Streaks' team was put on display, with Elise Laporte, Jayne Fitzpatrick, Moira Chambers, Gabriella Opron, Abbie Cupach, Harper Coffey, and Kala Knaze all showing up on the scoresheet. The Blue Streaks' defensive game was a highlight, holding the Bruins to a mere 5 first-half points.
