Basketball Captures Regional Championship; Heads To Final Four
For the second straight season, Magnificat Basketball captured the 2025 OHSAA Division I Regional Championship with a solid 54-41 victory over Jackson (Massillon) at Wadsworth High School. The game was tightly contested, with Magnificat leading 27-20 at halftime. Senior Sofia Wilson led the scoring for the Blue Streaks with 19 points - 13 of which came in the third quarter. Senior Julia Hall with 14 points, senior Reese Roggenburk adding 12, and junior Gemma Wichmann contributing 9 points helped the Blue Streaks pull away in the second half to secure the victory. The win, their 10th in a row, improves the team's record to 20-5, setting up an OHSAA Division I State Semifinal matchup with Pickerington Central on March 9th at a site to be determined.
