Basketball Stopped By Olmsted Falls In State Semifinal 62-38
Magnificat Basketball's journey in the OHSAA State Tournament ended in the Division I State Semifinal against the Olmsted Falls with a final score of 62-38 in favor of the Bulldogs. In the contest at the University of Dayton Arena, the Bulldog's sharp three-point shooting, connecting on 10 of 19 attempts, was a key contributor to their victory. At halftime, Olmsted Falls led with a score of 32-24, a lead that the Bulldogs continued to build on as they secured their place in the State Championship game. Junior Reese Roggenburk and senior Katie Maryo were the top scorers for the Blue Streaks, contributing 10 and 9 points respectively, while junior Sofia Wilson, in addition to her hustle on the boards with 5 rebounds, dished out 4 assists and recorded 2 steals. Roggenburk also made an impression not only scoring but collecting a game-high 11 rebounds. Magnificat concluded their season with a 21-7 record, their second consecutive District Championship and their first Regional Championship since 2002.
