Basketball Survives Regional Semifinal 61-53 Over Brush
In a formidable showdown on the basketball court, Magnificat Basketball emerged victorious over Brush 61-53 in an OHSAA Division I Regional Semifinal at Medina High School. The Blue Streaks entered the halftime with a 38-23 lead, but the Arcs mounted a furious rally in the second half to take a 53-52 lead midway through the fourth quarter. Magnificat closed the contest on a 9-0 run to put the game away and notch its first Regional victory since the 2002 season. The team was led by juniors Julia Hall with 26 points and Reese Roggenburk with 18 points. Senior Katie Maryo's contribution of 10 points (3 3-point field goals) was also pivotal for Magnificat. The Blue Streaks (20-6) advance to the OHSAA Division I Regional Championship against Medina on Saturday, March 9th at 7:00pm at Medina High School.
