Blue Streaks Claim Second Place at Rollin Waite Invite
In a dramatic display of athletic skill, the Magnificat High School girls track and field team, known as the Blue Streaks, captured second place at the Rollin Waite Invite held on April 29, 2025. Competing against schools like Western Reserve, Hawken, and John Hay, the Blue Streaks amassed 55 points in a robust showing at the competitive event.
Hosted at Western Reserve, the meet was temporarily halted due to a storm but resumed once the weather cleared, adding to the day's excitement. In individual achievements, Sarah Frericks took the top spot in high jumping with a leap of 4'10". Grace Kuchta triumphed in the triple jump, covering a distance of 29'9". Additionally, Ally Liller led the pack in the 1600m run with a time of 6:07, showcasing the depth and talent of the Magnificat team.
This performance at the Rollin Waite Invite not only provided a platform for the Blue Streaks to display their skills but also set a high standard for the remainder of the season. The athletes' ability to overcome the challenge posed by the weather and their competitors speaks volumes about their determination and teamwork.
