Blue Streaks Clinch First Place in Varsity Quad Meet at Gilmour Academy

In a display of dominance and teamwork, the Magnificat High School's Blue Streaks girls' track and field team secured first place at the Varsity Quad Meet held at Gilmour Academy on April 1, 2025. Braving the cold weather, the Blue Streaks amassed an impressive total of 96 points, outperforming competitors from Lakewood, Gilmour Academy, and Orange.

The team's victory was highlighted by several outstanding individual performances across both field and running events. Maddy Murphy shone in the field events, clinching victories in the shot put with a throw of 28 feet 9 inches and in the discus with a throw of 85 feet 8 inches. Chloe Bibbo soared to success in the pole vault, clearing a height of 7 feet 6 inches, while Casey Ansberry leaped to a win in the long jump with a distance of 16 feet 1.25 inches and Mae McGreal secured the high jump title at 5 feet.

On the track, the Blue Streaks continued their winning streak. Frankie DeFranco sped past her competitors in the 100m hurdles, finishing first with a time of 18.25 seconds. Additionally, Izzy Loeffler sprinted to victory in the 200m dash, clocking in at 28.36 seconds, adding to the team's robust performance. These achievements not only underscore the Blue Streaks' depth and skill but also set a high standard for future competitions.
