Blue Streaks Show Strong Performances at NEOITC All-Star Meet
Magnificat High School's track and field team, the Blue Streaks, showcased a series of impressive performances at the NEOITC All Star Meet held on Feb. 16, 2024, at Spire. The meet marked an end-of-regular-season highlight for the high school athletes. Competing alongside schools such as St. Joes, Avon, and Strongsville, Magnificat athletes stood out in various running and racing events. Madison Miller's leap earned her a 2nd place finish in the high jump, soaring to 5 feet 3 inches. Emily Allman and Allison Eppich also contributed to the team's tally, with Allman clearing the bar at 10 feet 9 inches to secure 4th place, and Eppich demonstrating her skill to place 7th in the same event with a vault of 10 feet 3 inches. Casey Ansberry showcased speed in the 60 meter dash, claiming an 8th place finish with a time of 8.07 seconds, while Mikaela Davala powered through the 800m run in 2 minutes and 18 seconds to secure the 6th position. A combined effort from Magnificat's 4x400 team, comprised of Mariella Mayer, Megan Martin, Mikaela Davala, and Brooklyn Ramos-Kelly, earned them a 5th place finish with a time of 4 minutes and 11 seconds. Coach Troyan, expressed anticipation for the upcoming state meet, referred to colloquially as "The Show," saying, "Now we wait to see who is heading to 'The Show.'"
