Canandaigua Academy Edges Magnificat 11-10 In Varsity Softball
Magnificat Varsity Softball faced a narrow defeat against the Canandaigua Academy Gray Wolves in a varsity softball tournament in Orlando, Florida. Final score: Canandaigua Academy 11, Magnificat 10. Despite the loss, individual performances stood out for the Blue Streaks. Senior Lauren Shaver & junior Vanessa Roth each had 3 hits, while senior Ruari Dever & freshman Haley Wheeler added 2 hits each for Magnificat. Dever and Shaver, in particular, also made notable contributions in the runs batted in column, with Dever notching 3 RBIs and Shaver adding 2 of her own. Senior Rachel Witalis started as the pitcher for the Blue Streaks followed by sophomore Marylynn Kennedy. Looking forward, the Magnificat will attempt to get their first win in Orlando as they face Webster Schroeder (Webster, NY) tomorrow.
